Addresses Display Incorrectly In Service Request Form When Entering A Period Or Comma In Address DFF (Data Flex Field) (Doc ID 1304688.1)

Last updated on JULY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Teleservice - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Contact Center, if the Address is updated or created in the Address flexfield that includes a period in the first line and a comma in the second line, when the same address is viewed via the Address flexfield from the Service Request form, Addresses tab, the address appears on two lines instead of one.

For example:

Scenario 1:
If the Address flexfied in the Contact Center -> Addresses Tab includes:
Address1 Test address 1. using a dot
Address2 test address 2 using a comma, after comma
State: CA

Then, in the Service Request -> Contact/Addresses Tab, when looking at the same address (Bill To or Ship To), it appears as:
Address1 Test address 1. using a dot
Address2 test address 2 using a comma, after comma
Address3 test address 2 using a comma, after comma
State: CA
Province: CA

Scenario 2:
If address1 has 2 dots and address2 has 2 commas, SR form shows the address incorrect in both bill to and ship to, part of address1 is repeated in address3, and address2 is repeated in address4

Contact Center -> Addresses Tab includes:
Address1 Test address 1.dot.2 dots
Address2 test address 2, comma, 2 commas
State: CA

Service Request shows:
Address1 Test address 1.dot.2 dots
Address2 test address 2, comma, 2 commas
Address3 2 dots
Address4 test address 2, comma, 2 commas
State: CA
Province:
County: CA

Scenario 3:
If address1 has a dot and address2 has no dots or commas, SR form shows address1 correctly but address2 is repeated in address3 in both bill to and ship to.

When the dots and commas are removed, the addresses appear as expected.

Expected Behavior
Expect the address appears the same in the Service Request form as it does in the Contact Center.

Steps To Reproduce

1. In the Contact Center update the Address by entering a period or comma in the first two lines of the Address fields.
2. View the same address via the Service Request -> Addresses tab using the Address flexfield.
3. The address lines get spread onto more than one line.

NOTE: In the <images or examples> <above or below> and/or the attached document, user details / company name / address / email / telephone number represent a fictitious sample (based upon made up data used in the Oracle Demo Vision instance).  Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
