Cannot Open Exported File, Get Not A Supported File Type, Why?

Goal

In Account Details, you select a few invoices to export, in this example 3 invoices.
You then click the Export button for PDF format.
You get a pop up asking if you want to save the file, but the file name is an odd name, for example, ARIALTXLI739768122_out.pdf. The standard name is preview.pdf. You can save the exported file to your desktop, however, the file size is zero bytes. This happens for HTML and RTF formats also.

When you try to open the file, you get this error:
Adobe Reader could not open the exported file 'ARIALTXLI739768122_out.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged(for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
