Item Instance Remains Out of Service After Retiring (Expiring) (Doc ID 1312478.1)

Last updated on MAY 18, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Installed Base - Version 12.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After an internal In Service Item Instance is Terminated (Retired) in Install Base, the Operation Status Code displays the status as "In Service". This is not correct and the status cannot be changed.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect the Operation Status Code value to change to Out of Service was it is terminated/expired since it is no longer in service.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Receive a normal item into Inventory and then perform an Issue to Field Location which updates the item instance to In Service
2. Provide an End Date to the item instance via either the Mass Edit functionality or manually through the User Interface
3. Review the item instance details and Operation Status Code value is still 'In Service'

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
When retiring an item out in the field without returning the item the Item Instance in Install Base should accurately reflect that it is no longer In Service.  Required audit reports will be inaccurate.
