E-Business Suite Users Experience Intermittent HTTP-500 Errors and Database Connection Errors (Doc ID 1314433.1)

Symptoms

Intermittently when users try to connect to, or use the E-Business suite, the following error occurs.

Error

500 Internal Server Error

Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response. Please consult the application log for details.

 

Note:- The issue occurs intermittently for all users, but after short time the system returns to normal.

Changes

The E-Business suite has recently been upgraded to 12.1.3 and the following actions were performed

a:- Shared appl_top implementation, 2 application tier servers
b:- Load balancer implementation
c:- Increase of nprocs oacore, forms

Shortly after the changes the application started to act strange, users where disconnected, and system is not stable.

Note:- This issue can occur in any E-Business suite instance where network traffic between the Middle Tier and the database is not direct (e.g. firewall, load balancer etc)
