Retropay Processes Current Element Entries After Quick Pay or Payroll Run in the Same Period (Doc ID 1315500.1)

Last updated on APRIL 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Payroll - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Adhoc QuickPay or Supplement run is done at the beginning of the period to pay out a  bonus or one-off payments.  Then a new element is added within the same period.  This new element is then picked by the RetroPay process and retro entries are then unnecessarily created.

This could cause double payment in the period or other unexplained calculations.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Run Quickpay for Supplemental run for current period
  2. Make an element entry in current period.
  3. Run Retro-Notifications Report (Enhanced) - PDF.  This creates a retro assignment for the assignment paid in Quick Pay or Supplemental run.
  4. Run Retropay (Enhanced) which results in unexpected retro entries for payment made in Quick Pay or Supplemental run.

Note: There are also other situations where issue can occur such as running any payroll prior to retropay being run in current period.
