R12:AP/XLA:Application Accounting Definitions Validation Leaves Event Classes in Status Validating (Doc ID 1325761.1)

Last updated on APRIL 25, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Payables - Version 12.0.0 to 12.2.12 [Release 12.0 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Event Classes such as Invoices, Payments, etc., under Definition Code XX_ACCRUAL_XXX are stuck with status 'Validating'.

The Accounts Payable Create Accounting Program completes in error. The following error message is shown in the Accounting Program log file:

An internal error occurred.  Please inform your system administrator or support representative that:

An internal error has occurred in the program xla_accounting_pkg.ValidateAAD.  ORA-0000: normal, successful completion.

This can be reproduced by doing the following:

  1. Log in as the Payables Manager
  2. Navigate to / Other / Requests
  3. Query the "Create Accounting" and submit the program to run.
  4. Review the log file of the Accounting Program that runs after the Create Accounting Program and see that there is an error.

When running the Application Accounting Definition Validation process to resolve the error, the report shows that the status of the Application Accounting Definition for the event class is "Validating." However, no Application Accounting Definition Program is currently running.
