Unit Cost Is Not Showing In Sales Orders (Doc ID 1331512.1)

Symptoms

We are having an issue where Unit Cost is not showing in Sales Orders, and it showing in other items. 
It happens for newly created items without any stock and transaction.
Due to this, 'Margin Amount' and 'Margin Percent' under 'Pricing' tab on order line is also null.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility: Order Management Super User (or equivalent)
2. Navigate to: Orders, Returns > Sales Orders
3. Query the sales order
4. Click on the line items tab > then on the pricing tab
5. The sales order line does not have the unit cost column populated
