How to customize Order Movement GID Format in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) (Doc ID 1333482.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The original Order Movement ID is based on the Order Release ID with an extra suffix, the requirement is that when an Order Movement is split, a unique number needs to be set to each split part of the OM.

Example:

An Order Release is created with the ID: XYZ and consist of 10 Ship Units. The Order Release will travel on 3 different legs and therefore 3 OMs are created with ID:

XYZ -001
XYZ -002
XYZ -003

The middle leg needs to be split due to equipment capacity constraints into 8 + 2 ship units, and a new OM ids is created.

Remark: Out of the box the system would create the new Order Movement as : XYZ -004.

But the requirement is to generate the split order movement as: XYZ – 002 - A or XYZ – 002 – 001(ie. the original OM with any suffix).

Also, for Order movements they have only one BN Context.

Is this possible to achieve this requirement by application design?
