Rejected Appraisal Cannot Be Resubmitted For Manager Approval (Doc ID 1335878.1)

Symptoms



On : 12.1.3 version, Appraisals

When a Manager rejects the appraisal the supervisor receives the reject notification and the appraisal can be updated. The appraisal is then submitted again for approval and is not received by the manager the second time. Appraisal shows 'PENDINGAPPR' status. Customer is NOT using the employee self service and only Manager Self Service. No notifications should be going to the employee, there is no sharing of details with appraisee.

There are NO customizations with the workflow.

Customer has AME approval group using Supervisor then HR as the final approval.
This works fine when not using the REJECT button.

Error is not visible to the manager when Rejecting and the Appraisal is returned to the submitting manager and placed in ‘ONGOING’ system status. When the rejected appraisal is then updated for the second submit for approval it is stuck in PENDGAPPR status. When investigating the error using workflow status monitor, it shows that the original error might have occurred on the initial reject by the manager.

ALL reject appraisals get stuck in PENDINGAPPR when they are resubmitted for approval in the workflow.

Clicking on the error link in the status column, get the below details. Customer is concerned that something may be incorrect as they see ‘Notify Rejected Employee’ when they are not using Employee Self Service.
The reject notification is going to the submitting appraiser and the employee should not be receiving a notification in any case.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Manager1 Submits Appraisal for approval.
Manager2 Rejects Appraisal.
Manager1 Receives Reject Notification.
Manager1 Selects Update Appraisal and Submits for Approval.
Manager2 Does not receive Approval Notification.
Appraisal shows 'PENDINGAPPR' status.
