Script to Check Cross-Validation Rules of Account Code Combinations (Doc ID 134006.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 11.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This article provides a script to determine if one Account Code Combination violates any cross validation rule and which rule is violated.

Sometimes it is difficult to determine the reason for a code combination to be rejected, especially if no error message text is displayed, as for example in Account Generator logs. Even if the message is shown (eg. on Code Combinations form), if the message is ambiguously used by more than one cross-validation rule, the user is forced to check all possible rules, since there is no way to query the concatenated segments on the Cross-Validation Rules form.

You can also check if the code combination is violating the cross validation rule by running the "Cross Validation Violation Report" from the System Administrator Responsibility.

Trying to enter the combination in a dummy journal can also provide useful information.

Scope

Intended audience: Analysts, end-users.
