When a Serialized Item is Returned, Reconfigured and Shipped it Still Retains the Previous Child Link. (Doc ID 1340322.1)

Oracle Installed Base - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Install Base, when a configured serialized item is returned, once the receipt is completed the Parent and Child are Expired, but it appears the system is not considering what happens to the Child when the Parent is re-shipped.  Just because there was a Parent/Child relationship while they were with the 1st customer, after the return the Parent can and does get physically reconfigured and may go back out with no Child records or a different Child record. If the original Child is still attached then after the re-ship the IB configuration is incorrect.

How do we go about fixing this is the main concern.
