R12 MRC Upgrade: Can an Existing Reporting Currency Be Assigned to a New Primary Ledger? (Doc ID 1342618.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 16, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.0 to 12.1 [Release 12.0 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In the 11.5.10 environment, multiple primary Sets of Books (SOBs), in various currencies, are assigned to the same, common MRC reporting SOB (in USD) - a many to one configuration (MRC Lite).  Many Primary sets of books have the same Reporting set of book assigned to it.

The R12 upgrade program has upgraded these primary SOBs into Primary ledgers and each primary ledger is pointing to the SAME common Reporting Currency ledger.

In R12, a new Primary ledger is needed, with the same Reporting Currency ledger as those already described.  When trying to do that setup, an error is received that the reporting ledger name must be unique.

1.  Is this upgraded setup supported in R12?
2.  Is it possible to assign the same Reporting Currency ledger to a new Primary ledger?
