11i and R12: OIE: AME Approval Notifications Are Not Sent By E-mail

Information in this document applies to any platform.
After setting up iExpenses and associated AME set up, Email Notifications are not being sent out to users; these include approval and receipt notification emails, however, Standard invoice and requisition approvals are sent out successfully.
The notifications get to the stage AME Approval process/block and are not progressing.
