IB Error: Parent Serial Number Not Available For The Combination &inventory_item_id and &serial_number. (Doc ID 1378246.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to process a WIP Assembly Completion (CSIWIPAC) the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
Parent serial number not available for the combination (&inventory_item_id) and (&serial_number or null)

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create and issue components for a WIP Job
2. Complete the job
3. Transaction fails with reported error

Changes

The component item was set to non-serialized control before WIP component issue then change to serialized control at receipt after WIP component issue.  User use SQL statement to update serial number column on table CSI_ITEM_INSTANCES.
