R11i QP: Maintains The Denormalized Data In QP Qualifiers Causing TX Enqueue DB Waits and Locks

Symptoms

On : 11.5.10.2 version, Attribute Manager

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Submit program 'QP: Maintains the denormalized data in QP Qualifiers' with following parameters:

list_header_id low: 6002
list_header_id high: 3741253
update_type = ALL

When we run this program.. during the update statements, it causes TX locks on the database that prevent users from completing their transactions. Once we terminate the program, it clears the locks.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
No TX locks on the database

We have tried running it when there is the least amount of activity (early morning hours for our company). However, sometimes the program can take two hours to run. We cannot have TX locks for up to two hours regardless of what time of day it is. We run a highly active 24/7 iStore, even though there is little activity going on in the early morning hours, those transactions cannot wait for two hours while this program completes. We have also been running this program for several years and have not encountered a locking issue to this degree before.
