Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.2.3 to 6.2.4 [Release 6.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On OTM version 6.2.3

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Order Configuration is incorrectly calculating volumes.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect Volumes to be correctly calculated.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

BRIEF:

1 - Log onto OTM

2 - Navigate to an Order Release that was created where OTM calculated the volumes.

3 - Go to the Ship Unit tab, note the volumes.

4 - Compare to the THU values and find the OTM calcualted values are incorrect, fro example:

Gross Volume Per Ship Unit is expected to be calculated as: Length 80 CM X Width 60 CM x Height 83 CM = 398400 or 0.39 CUMTR.
However the Gross Volume Per Ship Unit is shown in the UI as 0.53 CUMTR, this is incorrect.

Details:

1 - Log onto OTM

2 - Navigate to: Order Management > Power Data > Order Configuration > Order Configurations.

3 - Click NEW and create the following:

ID: Enter As Needed.
Order Base / Release Creation: Ship Unit.

Order Base tab:
Net Weight: Never
Net Volume: Never
Total Package Count: Never
Packaging Unit Count: Only If Null
Total Weight: Never
Total Volume: Never
Total Package Count: Never
Packaging Unit Count: Only If Null
Allow Over Releasing: Unticked
Single Release PerInstruction: Unticked.
PlanFrom/To Type: OVERRIDE SOURCE/DEST
Buffering Supported: Unticked.

Order Release tab:
Ship Unit Calculation: Calculate Ship Unit Metrics from Ship Unit Line
Gross Weight: Always / Net Weight Per Ship Unit + Tare of THU.
Gross Volume: Always / Calculate Using Ship Unit Dimensions.
Net Weight: Always / Sum Net Weight from Lines / Count
Net Volume: Always / Sum Net Volume from Lines / Count.
Total Gross Weight: Always / Gross Weight Per Ship Unit x Count.
Total Gross Volume: Always / Gross Volume Per Ship Unit x Count.

The Ship Unit Line fields are each set to 'Always'.

4 - Create Order Release as follows:

ID: Enter As Needed
Order Configuration: As created above.
Ship Unit tab, clicked New Ship Unit and create the following:

Transport Handling Unit: 3810
THU 3810 compromises of:
Unit type: Both
In/On/Max: In
Tare Weight: 33.00KG
Effective Volume: 0.4 CU M
Length per Ship Unit: 0.8 M
Width per Ship Unit: 0.6 M
Height per Ship Unit: 0.83 M
Stackable Above and Stackable Below: ticked.
Transport Handling Unit Count: 32

5 - Click New Line Item, added Item number to 376.

6 - Save and Finished.

7 - Click EDIT.

8 - Click to the Ship Uni tab, it shows:

Total Gross Volume: 17.00 CUMTR
Gross Volume Per Ship Unit: 0.53 CUMTR

9 - Gross Volume Per Ship Unit is expected to be calculated as: 80 CM X 60 CM x 83 CM = 398400 or 0.39 CUMTR.

Therefore the Gross Volume Per Ship Unit shown in the UI of 0.53 CUMTR is
incorrect. This also causes the Total Gross Volume to be incorrect.
