Multiperiod Accounting (MPA) not Calculating Monthly Expense Evenly (Doc ID 1392318.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Payables - Version: 12.1.3 and later   [Release: 12.1 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After implementing SLA Multiperiod Accounting, and selecting Deferred Period Type as "months", the calculated amount is not evenly distributed across the months.   For example, with Deferred Number of Periods set to 12, the calculation will be off by a few cents for the first 11 months and then make up the
remaining difference on month 12.

To further detail this example:
Created invoice with amount 96.00.  Based on that criteria one would expect that the spread would be 8.00 for 12 months.  But, in fact, it shows that the amount recognition is 7.98 for the first 11 months and then 8.22 on month 12.
