Purpose

This document is updated as new patches become available. The most current version can be obtained in My Oracle Support Knowledge <Document 1392527.1>. Modifications are listed in the change log. You should check for updates regularly, and in particular before performing any maintenance operations.

Except as noted, this document details which database patches are required for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 and Release 11i on Exadata in addition to the Exadata Bundle Patch being applied, on either Exadata Database Machines or SuperClusters. This should be used in addition to <Document 888828.1> for Exadata Database Machines or <Document 2056975.1> for SuperClusters, and, if you are upgrading the database, in conjunction with the appropriate Oracle E-Business Suite Interoperability note:

E-Business Suite R12.2:
<Document 2552181.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (12.2) with Oracle Database 19c
<Document 1926201.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0)
<Document 1623879.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0)

E-Business Suite R12.0-12.1:
<Document 2580629.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 with Oracle Database 19c
<Document 1524398.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 or 12.1 with Oracle Database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0)
<Document 1058763.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.0 or 12.1 with Oracle Database 11g Release 2  (11.2.0)

E-Business Suite R11i:
<Document 1524399.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle E-Business Suite 11i with Oracle Database 12c Release 1
<Document 881505.1> - Interoperability Notes: Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0)

For database patches for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 installed on Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata and SuperCluster), the information in this document should be referenced instead of <Document 1594274.1> - Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2: Consolidated List of Patches and Technology Bug Fixes.  Continue to use <Document 1594274.1> for patches required for the middle tier technology stack.

Note: You should review this document on a regular basis and install the latest recommended patches as soon as possible — ideally within the quarter they are released.  Applying these critical fixes to your Oracle E-Business Suite will help avoid security, functional, and performance issues for which fixes are already available.
Note: For each database version, only the two most recent quarterly bundle patch entries are kept up to date.

Scope

The information in this document applies only to Oracle E-Business Suite database implementations on Oracle Engineered Systems - Oracle Exadata Database Machines and Oracle SuperClusters.

Exadata bundle patches, named Quarterly Database Patch for Exadata (QDPE), are released quarterly, aligned with and including the database Critical Patch Update (CPU) and Patch Set Update (PSU) releases. QDPE releases are targeted for planned patching activities and are the only patch bundles that will be applied by most customers.  Oracle may also continue to make important fixes available in monthly or bimonthly interim bundle patches. Most customers will install these only if they are recommended by Oracle Support to address a specific issue that is fixed in an interim bundle patch and the customer cannot wait for the next QDPE containing the fix.  This document will not address interim bundle patches.

The goal is to include all EBS Interoperability database patches in the Exadata bundle patches, but in some cases the EBS-required database patch may not have made it into the Exadata bundle patch or may never be included if it does not meet the Exadata bundle patch inclusion criteria. Thus, this document is intended to clarify which EBS interoperability database patches are required in addition to a specific Exadata bundle patch.

All database bundle patches are cumulative.  See <Document 888828.1> (Exadata) or <Document 2056975.1> (SuperCluster) for further details.

The supported versions and lists of patches may change frequently, so it is important to review the current version of this document immediately prior to any maintenance of an E-Business Suite database on an engineered system.
