Unable to Unzip Patch Downloaded via My Oracle Support

Information in this document applies to any platform.
You have downloaded a patch via My Oracle Support and are unable to unzip the file on your server in the directory you have selected. When trying to unzip the file you are getting the following error messages:
unzip: cannot find zip file directory in one of filename.zip or filename.zip.zip,
and cannot find filename.zip.ZIP,period.
Where filename is the patch name.
