Symptoms
On : 12.1.3 version, Asset Definition
After upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3, when trying to create an asset with an asset category assignment receive error for Invalid Asset Category. Can create asset without category assignment. The categories we are trying to use are from a user defined category set called XXX_CLASS which is controlled at the Organization level. I have tried it in multiple organizatinos and with both existing and new Asset & Category combinations. If I use the default category for the category set it will create the asset.
the following error occurs.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Created new Asset Category Code = UNASSIGNED.OFFICE.2.
Added new Asset Category Code to an EAM Category Set.
3. Tied Asset Group to Asset Category Code through EAM Category Set.
4. When creating Asset Number unable to add new Asset Category Code to asset number.
a. Error message received reads "Insert procedure failed with the following error message: Invalid Asset Category".
5. Received the same Error message when I try to assign the Asset Number to the original Asset Category for Asset Group
