Goal

This note will show the existing values for the segment qualifiers of the Third Party Control Account.
Control accounts are General Ledger (GL) accounts accessed from Oracle Payables, Receivables. The control account segment qualifier lets you indicate which account segment values represent control accounts. You must define the control account segment qualifier before you can define accounting segments values as control accounts.
This is also defined into the General Ledger Implementation Guide .

In 12.1.3 the architecture has changed with the implementation of the Enhancement Request (ER) Bug 8490178.
There is a way to define an account code as a third party control account for the sole purpose of preventing the GL manual journal entries from posting to these accounts.
This option has been introduced as a "Restrict Manual Journals" segment qualifier in the list of values for the Third Party Control Account in the accounting flexfield segment value definition form.

Note :
After setting up an account code as "Restrict Manual Journals" third party control account, the user needs to run the concurrent program "Inherit Segment Value Attributes" to reflect the Third Party Control Account qualifier changes in the account code combinations.
