E-Business Suite: Using a Non-Standard "APPS" Schema Name in EBS (Doc ID 1414687.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 02, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Applications DBA - Version 12.1.3 to 12.2 [Release 12.1 to 12.2Cloud]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

E-Business Suite Customers whom have upgraded to current EBS versions from older versions (10.7 or even earlier) may have different schema instead of the later, standardized "APPS" naming convention. Typically this is due to previous versions of E-Business Suite allowing Customers the option of using different names.

The goal of this document is to answer the following questions:

  1. Is it Supported or possible to change a non-standard E-Business Suite schema name to a standard, schema name? (E.g., "APPS_FND" to "APPS")
  2. Is it an issue to have a non-standard "APPS" schema name?
