Error: "Unable to connect to an SMTP Server" When Sending Emails From The Service Request Form (Doc ID 1418663.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version, Service Request, Compose Email

When attempting to send out an email from the Service Request form, the following error occurs.

ERROR

Unable to connect to an SMTP server. The SMTP servers may be down. Please contact your site administrator.



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

(R) Service
(N) Find Service Request


Query up SR
Click (B)Email Contact
Compose Message
Click (B)Go

See the error:


Unable to connect to an SMTP server. The SMTP servers may be down. Please contact your site administrator.



BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:

Due to this issue, some users cannot send out emails for the SR form and that is affecting their productivity.
