Autonomous Scheduler Schedules Tasks On Existing Tasks (Doc ID 1448346.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Scheduler - Version 12.1.2 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
The scheduler is scheduling the task on an existing task.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect that when ever the scheduler schedules the task, it schedules the task not on the existing task

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Login to Oracle Apps
2. (R) field Service Manager -> Dispatch center -> Click the Gantt and find that there are tasks that are assigned to technicians. eg:
Task1 -> Scheduled to Tech1 from 10:00 to 12:00

3. Run the "Optimize across Trips" and once the same is completed, find that along with:
Task1 -> Scheduled to Tech1 from 10:00 to 12:00
Task2 -> Scheduled to Tech1 from 11:00 to 12:00

This is incorrect, as the Tech1 is already scheduled a Task1 during 10:00 to 12:00, hence another task Task2 cannot be scheduled during this time.

eg: Task 1 is scheduled, at the same time for Task2 the tech is traveling. This is incorrect.
