Symptoms


Running UK Payroll/quickpay for first time in upgraded R12 environment and get the following:

 

UK internal error has occurred at location pycload:2 Assertion failure detected at location pycload:

Action: please contact your Oracle customer representative. Fatal
Fatal
Cause: an internal error has occurred at location pycload:2. Fatal
Fatal
Assertion failure detected at location pycload:2. Fatal
Error was encountered when processing Element Type NI Fatal
Error was encountered when processing assignment 1000478 Fatal

 



Step to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Upgraded 11i to R12
Ran payroll
200 staff fail with above payroll message report error


found Note 1399056.1 - Payroll Error's: APP-PAY-51119 and APP-PAY-06882: Assertion failure detected at location pycload:2

Solution was to run Bulk Compile

Bulk Compile fails with similar error, for NI 2012 element - uploaded bulk compile log output:
APP-FF-34004: Oracle Payroll:NI:2012/04/06 FAILED
APP-FF-33523: Oracle Error -2112 verifying &1. SQL-02112: SELECT..INTO returns too many rows

Cause: An Oracle error occurred in the function ffscmp().

Action: Please refer to your system administrator.

SQL-02112: SELECT..INTO returns too many rows

 

Changes

 Upgraded from 11i to Release 12.1.3
