New Budget Defined During The Year: How To Import the Budget Balances From the Old Budget? (Doc ID 1455589.1)

Last updated on APRIL 16, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The budget definition was incorrect. A new budget was defined during the year as suggested in Note 213650.1 GLXBDDEF: Changing the Last Budget Period throws Error FRM-40200.

The old and new budgets have the 'Require budget journal' checkbox checked. As this requirement is also set up at the ledger/set of books level, it cannot be removed from the budget level.

The need is to bring funds data for each account from the old budget to the new one. 'Autocopy Budget' feature cannot be used where budget journals are required (this feature works for budget amounts).

How to bring budget balances for the next period in the new budget?
