Rounding Problem with Formula/Rule Related to Coverage Restriction (Doc ID 1464743.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 14, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Benefits - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After creating a formula in Advanced Benefits for Coverage Restriction (max coverage value in the formula is 208.33), when entering the max value 208.33 during enrollment, the following error occurs:

APP-BEN-91589: Amount 208.33 is greater than the 208 maximum allowed for the Health Care Spending Account Plan.

Note: Looks like system is rounding down and hence receiving an error that 208.33 is greater than 208. If you modify the formula to set the max at 208.50, 208.33 is accepted as a valid amount.

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Run Open Enrollment event with coverage effective date of 07/01/20XX enrollment period 04/13/20XX through 05/09/20XX.
2. Enter Benefits Service Center.
3. Enter Enrollment Form.
4. Elect Health Care Spending Account, click the Benefit tab and enter 208.33.
5. Save.

Error occurs.
