Why No Error Message Is Returned In x_msg_data While errorx_msg_count Is Greater Than Zero?

(Doc ID 1473520.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle E-Business Suite Integrated SOA Gateway - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The note also explains why SOA Gateway may not report that nullable parameters are not being passed a value.

After having generated a web service for the oe_order_pub.process_header API, it was observed that when calling the WS from asp.net or soapui, it fails but the x_msg_data out variable contains no data yet the errorx_msg_count has a value of 2.
Also, it was observed that after populating the nullable parameters with values, or removing them from the request, the WS was successful. Is this behavior expected?
