How To Mass Translate / Update Items In iProcurement Only Visible In Base Language Catalog (Doc ID 1484588.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 07, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle iProcurement - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

It is observed that for a large number of items in the master inventory of which most were created in base language (e.g.: English) session, the Items can be seen in the iProcurement catalog in English but not in the non English catalog.

Review of [<Note 330310.1> “Why Are iProcurement Search Results Different for Different Language Preference?"] shows the following solution:

“NOTE: For items in Master Items, it is still necessary to translate the item description into the languages used. This may be done by using the globe icon in Master Items. After the item descriptions are translated the iProcurement Catalog Data Extract - Items concurrent request will extract the foreign language translated value the next time the request is submitted.”

However, this seems not feasible for a large amount of items. Is there some other way to update all items already loaded with the base English language to appear in the Non English catalog?
