INVIDITM Form Hangs On Saving When Multiple Users Accessing

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Two or more users access the Item Master form (INVIDITM). Upon entering a new record, one of the users then finds that the form hangs upon saving the new record and they have to terminate their session and restart in order to successfully save.
Is this intended functionality or should multiple concurrent users be supported?
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Two or more user access to Item Master.
- The first user can work, the other user(s) has/have to wait that first user ends.
