Actual Ship Date Not Populated On Option Classes For Partially Shipped Line (Doc ID 1489932.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Shipping Execution - Version to 12.1.3 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

A sales order has two star items on the same line for a quantity(qty) of 5 each. If a qty of 5 is shipped for one star item and a qty of 4 is shipped for the other star item, line 1.1 closes with a qty of 4 for both the star items and creates a backordered line. The backordered line 1.2 is for a qty of 1 for both star items. The star item which was shipped for a qty of 5 will get closed while the other one remains open even though both are on the same line. When this happens, ONLY the star item line will have the actual shipment date on line 1.2 and the other option classes will NOT have the actual shipment date populated even though the lines are in a closed status.

Similarly, for line, and, it is seen that ONLY these lines have the actual shipment date populated.
For line 2.1, all the supporting lines have the actual shipment date.

The expectation is to see the actual shipment date for all the lines of 1.1 and the closed part of line 1.2.
One part of the line is closed and only the star item on this line 1.2 has an actual shipment date where as the rest of the closed supporting lines for 1.2.1 are NOT having the actual shipment date.

Clarify on what the expected functionality is in the above described scenario.
When the backordered line is shipped, should the actual ship date populate on all the lines?
