Generate Field Service Trips Program Is Not Creating Tasks For The Full Duration Of The Shift (Doc ID 1501520.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Field Service - Version 12.1.2 to 12.1.2 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.2

The Generate shift tasks concurrent program is not creating shift tasks for the entire duration of the shift.

For example:
A technician has a shift that is 18 hours long.   The Generate shift tasks program generates shift tasks for only 12 hours.

The expectation is that the shift tasks will cover the entire duration of the shift.

STEPS
-----------------------

The problem only happens under certain conditions.

 Steps to reproduce:
  1. The Dispatcher views the Dispatch center gantt chart and there are no shifts created.
  2. Run Generate Field Service trips for tomorrows day.  e.g. June 29th. for the resource with parameter 'replace'.
  3. Trip is generate successfully. from 05:00-23:00
  4. Run Generate Field Service trips for today's date. June 28th  with parameter 'replace'
  5. On the gantt.  The shift is created for 28th from 08:00-23:00 instead of 05:00-23:00.  Also the shift for June 29th has been deleted.
  6. The problem appears to only occur when running generate field service trips for the current date. If we try the above steps for July 4 and then July 3. it works fine.
