Last updated on AUGUST 25, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Human Resources - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version of Production Instance, In the Absence Form.

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------

When applying for a Leave, with start date and end date on a different work schedule, the duration is calculated as "Zero".

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------

Expected that, the leave duration should be calculated correctly and shown correctly. It should not be shown as zero. Even if absence end date falls in  a different work schedule over time

STEPS
-----------------------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

needed setup :

have 2 work schedules linked to employee
  work schedule 2012 (01-JAN-2012 - 31-DEC-2012)
  work schedule 2013 (01-JAN-2013 - 31-dec-2013)
  and link both to employee

(profile "HR: Schedule Based Absence Calculation" and set it to "Yes")

1. Now Login again using "HRMS Manager" responsibility.

2. Navigate to People --> Enter And Maintain.

3. Now query for the employee, who is attached to the schedule.

4. Click on "Others". From the LOV choose the value "Absence".

5. In the Absence form, enter "Leave Start Date" as 25-dec-2012 and enter
  "Leave End Date" as 04-JAN-2013

6. Now the calculated duration should be shown as "7" (taking into account
the schedule exceptions on 25-de-2012 and 01-jan-2013). But observe that it
  will be shown as "Zero".
