Depot Repair Error: "The Contact Point Is Not Valid" when saving SR with new Contact (Doc ID 1503538.1)

Symptoms

When using the 'add new contact' button in the Depot Repair form the following error is displayed

ERROR
-----------------------
API Error
(CS_ServiceRequest_UTIL.Validate_Per_Contact_Point_Id):
The contact point is not valid. Please check the values of the following: party, contact point, and contact point type.



STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open Depot Repair Workbench - CSDREPLN
2. Choose to create a new RO/SR
3. Enter customer name etc.
4. Press button 'New Contact'
5. Enter details  -including Phone number or Email - and save to get the error
