During one customer's recent audit, the auditors felt it was undesirable to be able to change Lot Origination dates.  

Navigation: Inventory > On-hand, Availability > Lots

You are seeking confirmation of the intended behavior of, and rationale for the design of, the Lot Origination Date, noting that it can be changed at will on the Item Lots form. This date is populated on a lot to record the date the Lot is produced on a production batch.

If the Lot Origination Date can be updated at will by design, the customer would like to know if there is a way to restrict this functionality other than by use of personalizations.
