Large XML Publisher Reports Fails With java.lang.NullPointerException Error (Doc ID 1516651.1)

Symptoms

The XML Publisher report end with warning status

Problem Description
Some XML Publisher reports end with warning status.it's not a general situation ,obviously it occurs in some cases when the report contains large number of pages.
the following java exception occurs in the OPP log file:
