Discoverer Plus 10g Does Not Load After Conversion To Shared APPL_TOP (Doc ID 1532784.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Stack - Version 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Discoverer is working fine, it works outside of E-Business Suite. The same Discoverer installation is connected to three E Business environments,

Two that have been converted to shared appl_top cannot access it, the one that remains with separate storage for each tier is able to access it fine.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Log into applications.

2. Select a responsibility with Discoverer links and then select the ‘Discoverer Plus’ menu item.

3. On selecting the link the session is thrown back to a login screen.

4. Try logging into Forms and accessing the Discoverer links from there.

5. Select a Discoverer link and are again taken back to the login page.

Unlike accessing Discoverer from the html menu, the login page is opened in a new tab, the other two tabs for the initial connection/html menus and the load of the forms servlet remain open alongside. Oracle forms remain loaded and you can return to them and work normally (i.e you have not been logged out of the application).

The Discoverer ICX profile options are set correctly.

The .dbc files match.

The problem also appears in other areas of the instance.

• Click on DBI function in application menu e.g. 'Invoice Activity'
• When attaching files to PO or invoice records within core application

The above activities also exit to a login screen wich will show:

ORA-01422 exact fetch returns more than the requested number of rows errors in the url

The fact that the problem appears in other areas of EBS shows that the issue is not with Discoverer.

Changes

 A shared appl-top was created.
