Inactivate Relationship errors with 'Multiple parents are not permitted for the D&B Hierarchy relationship type' (Doc ID 1536879.1)

Symptoms

In R12.1.3, users are unable to inactivate a party relationship. Whenever they try to inactivate the relationship, the following error is received:

Error
Multiple parents are not permitted for the D&B Hierarchy relationship type. Please use a different relationship type.

Unable to end-date a relationship in Oracle Customers Online (OCO) as the 'Update' and 'Remove' icons on the 'Relationship' page are grayed out in OCO.

Steps to reproduce:

-Telesales, N: eBusiness Center
-Query for a party
-Select the Relationship tab
-Select the relationship 'Global Ultimate Of'
-Uncheck the 'Active' check box and enter an end-date. The error appears.
