Unable To Update DFF Values To NULL In Meter Definition Form (Doc ID 1543484.1)

Last updated on MARCH 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.1 version, Asset Definition

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When trying to update the Counter Instance Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) to null and save, record is saved correctly. However, when re-querying the meter the old DFF values are displayed instead of null.
So, null values aren't saved. If values are updated, changes are saved.

Business requirement:
The vehicle is not under contract any more and we need to remove the rate information from that meter so if someone mistakenly uploads reading we won't be paying for those.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Null values to be saved correctly.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility: Enterprise Asset Management
2. Navigation: Meters -> Meter Definition
3. Define meter and enter DFF
