R12: Unable to Find Certain Functions in List of Values When Updating a Menu (Doc ID 1547990.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Application Object Library - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to add a  function or functions  to a menu using the  Navigation Path : System Administrator > Application > Menus  ( to get to form name FNDMNMNU) certain functions do not appear in the List of Values although no error appears.

Further investigations show that the functions that are missing are those that are later, rather than earlier, in the alphabet.  It is found that if the 'missing' functions are renamed slightly  so as to move them higher up the alphabet then the function will appear in the List of Values. (eg If  a function with the original name of  : "View Appraisals Manager" is re-named to ""AA View Appraisals Manager"" it can now bee seen).
