OKSAUDET - Locking Rows when Querying Contracts (Doc ID 1548051.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version, Service Authoring

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Find that whenever you open a contract in the Service Contracts form, the form is updating lines in the background and placing locks on those lines. Locks are placed on OKC_K_LINES_B and OKC_K_LINES_TL even though no updates have been made.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Standard behavior for Oracle forms is that you can query records in the form, but no locks are placed on the records until the user makes an update.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to Service Contracts
2. Search for a contract
3. Open the contract
4. Click on the Lines tab. Then you will see the locks.
5. Now, run this query in the database
select * from dba_dml_locks
where session_id in
(select sid from v$session where module like '%OKSAUDET%')

You will see locks on OKC_K_LINES_B and OKC_K_LINES_TL even though no updates have been made.
