How to check an IMAP connection to an Email Server and check that emails can be read correctly.

Information in this document applies to any platform.
With Email Center R12, it is possible to link to any IMAP compliant Email Server. A number of IMAP complaint servers exists today.
If issues are noticed when trying to open or view emails within Email Center, or with a Email Client such as Thunderbird, it can be helpful to understand the output generated by direct IMAP commands onto the Email Server, to read the email.
If errors are noted or parts of the email are missing with direct IMAP commands onto the Email Server, please request assistance from your Email Server provider, and give details of the IMAP tests detailed below.
