MFS: How to Resolve MS-9025 / ORA-936 During Synchronization After Patching or Upgrading Olite (Doc ID 1555898.1)

Goal

This document contains some known solutions for resolving the error "MS-9025 Server error has occurred" in combination with "An internal error has occurred.:ORA-00936: missing expression " in ol_synch.log.

This error can occur during a first synch after install or upgrade of the mobile server to 10.3.0.3. It can also occur after applying a mobile field service specific patch.

The specific error can be seen in C:\Mobileclient\oldb40\ol_sync.log after the generic error is shown in the browser when the synch fails.

More specific details can also be seen in the synchronization log on the server after enabling debugging in the $OLITE_HOME/mobile/server/bin/webtogo.ora:

  GLOBALLogger=TRACE_LEVEL=ALL|TRACE_TYPE=ALL|TRACE_DESTINATION=TEXTFILE
  SYNCLogger=TRACE_LEVEL=ALL|TRACE_TYPE=ALL|TRACE_DESTINATION=TEXTFILE

When synchronizing and getting the error, there will be details in the logs in $OLITE_HOME/mobile/server/ConsLog/SYNC
