BPA Prints Concatenated Description And Not What Is Saved In Transaction Form, Lines Window (Doc ID 1562216.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 25, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Bill Presentment Architecture - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The issue exists in 11i for invoices created  in Projects and Receivables.
A. Example from Projects:
User enters a new event in billing events and on the Events Summary  form in the description field they are using the edit field tool to enter the description.
When they enter the description they are using carriage returns. When the Invoice is printed the carriage returns are suppressed.

B. Example from Receivables:
 1.
Entered new Invoice in Transactions form  and clicked Lines button.
 Entered three lines.
For the third line entered in Description field the following:
 description line1
 .
 2.
Description field in a Lines window  does not allow to move to the next
line.. so used Edit field icon from the menu  and opened Editor window.
 .
Used carriage return (Enter key) to move to the next line and entered multiple lines:
 description line1
 description line2
 description line3
 description line4
 description line5
 description line6
 description line7
 description line8
 description line9
 description line10
 .
 Clicked OK
 .
 4.
Saved and completed Invoice number 473
 .
 5.
Clicked BPA icon on a right side
 .
 Description appears as concatenated :
 description line1 description line2 description line3 description line4
 description line5 description line6 description line7 description line8
 description line9 description line10
 .
 6.
 Checked again in Transactions form
Clicked Lines , put cursor in description field and  selected Edit field icon from the menu
 .
 Editor shows what was saved:
 .
 description line1
 description line2
 description line3
 description line4
 description line5
 description line6
 description line7
 description line8
 description line9
 description line10
 .
So BPA prints concatenated Description and not what is saved in Editor
