Customer Form, Numbering Issue: Party Number and Account Number are not Synchronized (Doc ID 156522.1)

When creating new customer records, noted that the Party Number and Customer/Account Number are not the same value. Noticed that for upgraded customer records, these values are identical. Should these 2 numbers be the same?
