On : 12.1 HRMS RUP4 version, Compensation Workbench
After submitting Concurrent Request "Back-out Compensation Workbench Life Events Process" using a Person Selection Rule and Validate Mode "Rollback", customer experiences the following results:
1 - Records have life events getting backed out
2 - Records for employees that both do and do not satisfy rule criteria are being affected
Expect that when the process is run with Validate Mode "Rollback", no records will be changed and that only those records that fit the rule criteria should be affected or included in report details.
CUSTOMER BACK STORY
Found 10 employees who should not have had the CWB life event.
To correct the problem, they attempted to run the 'Back-out Compensation Workbench Life Events Process' using a Person Selection Rule specifying only these 10 records in rollback mode.
But the headcount was not correct, so they kicked off the process 10 times for each employee in 'COMMIT' mode using Specific Employee Only parameter.
Later they found when running payroll that 200+ employees have their old salary and not the increase because their CWB life events were also backed out (even though they should not have).
So, they created another person selection rule to run the Participation Process: CWB for these people, which they first submitted in Rollback mode.
Even they wanted it to process for 200+ employees, it was picking 6000+ employees as per the summary report.
In Production, they have used a workaround of manually updating the salary for those 200+ employees but now they want to focus back on the original issue.
When using Person Selection Rule to run 'Back-out Compensation Workbench Life Events Process' in rollback MODE, why are CWB life events backed-out?
Also, why other employees who were not suppose to be processed are also picked up?
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to responsibility US Super HRMS Manager.
2. Navigate to Processes and Reports > Submit Processes and Reports > Single Request.

Person Selection Rule: GB_CWB_LE_ISS_2013
