Purpose

This document introduces the new Business Service Object (BSO) web service to create and update Purchase Orders (POs) in 12.1.3 and 12.2. The document discusses the architecture, usage and also includes some sample code.

Scope

Information in this document is specific to the new Purchase Order BSO web service. The web service can be used to create and update Purchase Orders of types: Standard Purchase Orders, Complex Purchase Orders, Global Blanket Purchase Agreements and Global Contract Purchase Agreements. Oracle Purchasing Buyer Work Center functions are supported by this web service.

This web service is primarily recommended for updating Purchase Orders. To create Purchase Orders in bulk, Purchasing Documents Open Interface (PDOI) is recommended. The web service can also be used to create and update POs during integration with third party systems.

The audience for this document is customers, implementers, partners, and support. This document will help them understand the architecture and usage of this new BSO web service.
