Applies to:
Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.1.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
This enhancement provides out of the box support for adding contingent workers as resources in eAM pages.
Background of the requirement:
Contingent workforce is a term used to refer to workers that work for companies on a non-permanent basis. They may be consultants or outside contractors.
Prior to this enhancement, eAM only allowed resources defined as employees in the HR module to be used as resource instances in eAM.
Prerequisite:
Contingent worker record must exist in HR and BOM before they become visible in eAM screens.
- In the Human Resources Module, a contingent worker must be defined as Person Type 'Contingent Worker'.
- In the Bill of Materials Module, the contingent worker must be defined as a resource in one or more eAM department.
- Patches 6393041:R12.BOM.C and 14595358:R12.WIP.B need to be applied as a pre-requisite for this eAM patch. These patches are applicable on top of EBS release 12.1.3.
