Customer Search with DQM enabled did not return expected results (Doc ID 1575233.1)

Symptoms

In 12.1.3:

DQM is enabled and now users are facing issues while searching customers by Customer Name.

When searching with Conley%, the search is bringing back customers like 'Autoridad' and others.
When searching with Trim%, the search brought back nothing, but if you add a B to the end, the search with 'Trimb%' returns results.
Also when searching for a particular customer and postal code, it’s pulling by customer and not necessarily both criteria.
