GLAMAS: Mass Allocation Erroring Out: Cannot Use Constant Segment Type with Parent Segment Value (Doc ID 1578943.1)

Last updated on APRIL 03, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Executable:GLAMAS - Run MassAllocations

Symptoms

In Mass allocation formula system expects Parent account to be a constant account and not a "Sum" account.

1) Use a Parent account to sum up the total amount to be allocated.  The total calculated does not include all the child values.  To validate the parent account is correctly built, run a FSG using the same parent and get the correct value. The problem is with the Mass Allocation program. The parent account which represents all expenses, has other parents that roll
up into this account.  Two parents identified in this heirarchy that seem to not include all their children. These are account parent values.

2) The journal for this allocation should zero out all expenses for Departments rolling up to the cost center, allocating the total amount to COGS. It is missing some accounts in what it is clearing out. They report to the two Parent accounts above.
